Stamped on the X1 chain

A film, sealed in the chain.

Download Night of the Living Dead (1968) back out of the X1 chain, verify it byte-for-byte against its on-chain hash, and play it — locally, on your machine.

1Get the toolkit

One command-line tool, zero dependencies. It pulls the stamp’s transaction history off the chain, reassembles the file, and verifies every chunk as it goes.

Download command
node permadata-get.mjs ALuMA6zrW9NWGACyK7SbExwyWteAeDz9YEANFkizNUU4 -o notld.mp4

2Three steps

Unzip the toolkit and run three commands. The download takes roughly 37–39 minutes on the free public RPC.

1

Install Node.js 20+

Check it’s there with node --version. If not, get it from nodejs.org.

node --version
2

Run the download

From the unzipped folder:

node permadata-get.mjs ALuMA6zrW9NWGACyK7SbExwyWteAeDz9YEANFkizNUU4 -o notld.mp4

On completion it prints RESULT: PASS. Interrupted runs resume from where they stopped.

3

Verify the hash

Compute the file’s SHA-256 and compare it to the stamp’s content hash.

sha256sum notld.mp4

On macOS: shasum -a 256 notld.mp4. It must equal the value in the verification section below.

3Check it plays

Drop the downloaded file here to play it in your browser.

The file never leaves your machine. Playback happens entirely in your browser, from the local file — nothing is uploaded anywhere.

4Performance

Measured against the free, unauthenticated public RPC on 2026-10-19.

5Verify

The stamp commits to one SHA-256 hash. If your file matches, it is the exact bytes that were sealed on-chain. This check needs no software from us — it’s plain SHA-256.

Optional. The content hash is the canonical identity; the Merkle root lets you prove every 900-byte chunk.
